First Male Swallowtail of 2025

When spring time comes and the first females come through to lay their eggs, from that moment on, all the way up to the point where the fully grown caterpillar forms it chrysalis there is NO way to distinguish the ladies from the boys. But, the differnece between the two is never more obvious than when they come out of their chrysalis. Females have a vast and superior amount of blue on their wings vs males who have little to sometimes NO blue and have dramatically more Yellow on their wings.
