Swallowtail pupa (chrysalis)

Generally over night the caterpillar will use their ability to spin silk, finding a safe, secure branch to secure itself to. Most impressive is that somehow they are able to make their cocoon the same shade/color as the item they are attached too. I was able to get a photo not only of the individual chrysalis but one picture comparing what one that has set up on a dead tree branch versus one on a live tomato stem. Blending in such a way is a impressive defensive trait this species has. From here the metamorphisis times can vary dramatically but they will not require any more care from us.
