Garden 2023, Melons

Unfortunatly, this year again was a bust on raising watermelons. The space is to small and believe it or not watermelons/all melons, can more easily be over watered than under which is another reason for the poor quality.

Garden 2023, Cucumbers

for some reason it took years to figure out growing cucumbers was way way easier than we had thought. This year we bought a metal scaffolding for the garden and let the cucumbers grow and flower on it. 7 feet tall x 3 feet wide. See the first photo. Great things about doing cucumbers is that all you must do is water them daily and keep them from a lot of direct sunshine. 2 varieties, Kirbies and the regular longer salad cucumbers.

Garden 2023 Tomatoes

We had Brandywine, Cherokee Purple, common Beefsteak, Big Rainbow, Jubilee(a golden varitey), Ruby Gold and Black Beauty. We had intentionally wanted to plant a LOT of San Marzano to make winter sauces, but for some reason this last spring, they were not being sold ANYWHERE. Second from the bottom: Purple Cherokee on the right side, Brandywine on the left side, and then the 3 in the middle are just beefsteaks.

Garden 2023 "Produce" Peppers

All heirloom tomatos and peppers were planted out this year, belive it or not, we even tried to cataloge as many as we can for next year.
