Haleys favorite, the Rosalie has large flowers of a color that is difficult to describe. Some insist it is pink. Others protest that it is salmon. And then the more common Amaryllis is a genus of flowering bulbs with two species. The better known species, Amaryllis belladonna, is native to the Western Cape region of South Africa. These are the most popular ones for the holidays around here. They are a bright red color, multiple flowers per stalk, sometimes up to 4-5 flowers per.

We were passing through downtown today and came across these landscapers planting spring tulip bulbs. He said about 1000 in these big plots.

Finally they are beggining to ripen and change colors. The jalapeno and banana will be pickled, the habenero will be dried.
